Nissan Qashqai Gets New Diesel Engine

The best selling crossover in the UK is now available with an all-new 1.6 liter diesel engine. It is cleaner and more economical than the outgoing Qashqai 2.0 dCi.

The new four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine equipped with latest Stop/Start system, will produce 119 g/km of CO2. It also offers 62.8mpg (+14.9mpg) on the combined cycle, whcih is thirty percent more than the previous model.

In terms of power and performance, the new diesel makes 130PS and 320 Nm of torque. Nissan says it offers stronger in-gear acceleration than the 2.0 liter unit, as 30-50mph takes only 6.29 seconds.

In addition to its efficient new engine, Qashqai has also benefited from a number of innovative items of equipment including for the first time in its class, Around View Monitor. Using a set of discrete external cameras, Around View Monitor makes manoeuvring and parking as safe and easy as possible by giving the driver a real-time bird’s eye view of the surrounding environment.

Pricing for the new Nissan Qashqai 1.6 Diesel is yet to be revealed.
