Kia has priced the sedan version of the 2012 Rio even lower than the hatchback, with a base MSRP of $13,400 for the manual and $14,500 for the automatic.

The top-of-the-line SX trim which is loaded with stuff such as metal pedals, LED front accent lights, LED taillights, a Supervision meter cluster, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, power-folding outside mirrors, dual illuminated vanity mirrors, and UVO powered by Microsoft voice-activated infotainment system with rear camera display, is still reasonably priced at $17,500.

The base Rio Sedan is also generously-equipped with standard air conditioning, electric power steering, an AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system with USB and auxiliary ports, SiriusXM™ satellite radio with three months complimentary service(7), and a slew of standard safety features, including Electronic Stability Control (ESC), a four-wheel Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) and Vehicle Stability Management (VSM).

Engine-wise, the 2012 Rio is available with a 1.6-liter Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) four-cylinder with the option of either a six-speed manual transmission (LX only) or efficient six-speed automatic. It generates 138 hp and thanks to the latest fuel saving features such as stop/start, it averages 30/40 mpg (city/highway).
