Japanese tuner Veilside revealed a new Black Series conversion kit for the Mercedes SL at the 2012 Tokyo Auto Salon tuning show.
Dubbed the Black Fortune, this kit is for those too in love with the SL65 Black Series but can’t get it because it’s sold out, or can’t afford it, either way.
In some ways it’s better than the original Black because unlike that, the roof in the Fortune still folds away. But the kit is not as composed and balanced as the real SL65 Black. It’s somehow too chintzy and glitzy, even by Mercedes standards.
The kit includes complete new bumpers for front and rear, new side skirts, side vents with carbon fiber garnish, a tail spoiler and massive rear diffuser with weird-looking exhausts pipes. As an added bonus, they’ve also flared the arches for a massive widebody effect.
The cost of this kit is 3,000,000 JPY in Japan.
