German tuner MKB has come up with new power upgrade kits for AMG 5.5 liter and Mercedes 500 V8 engines.
For the mighty 5.5 liter biturbo V8 – featured in the CL63, CLS63, ML63, S63, and the upcoming SL63 AMG – MKB offers up to 122 hp and 300 Nm increase in power. That means a total output of 640 hp and 1.000 Nm.
That’s been achieved using tuned boost pressure, high flow exhaust systems and ECU management. And it has a profound effect on the performance of the aforementioned AMG cars. This Mercedes CLS63 AMG here for example can now do 0 to 100km/h in 4.1 seconds and achieve a top speed of 340km/h, although it’s limited by default to 300.
For the non-AMG V8 Mercedes 500 models, MKB’s upgrade package offers 530 hp and 800 Nm, only through ECU adjustments. With that a Mercedes CLS500 can sprint from zero to 100km/h in 4.4 seconds and up to a limited top speed of 300 km/h.
Both kits fully comply with Euro 5 standards and are available with a full MKB warranty. MKB also recommends their 19” or sporty 20” wheels for these tuned Mercs.
