Prior Design has come up with a kit for the old (pre-faclift) Mercedes SL, which is inspired by the SL Black Series.

Normally we don’t like massively flared wheel arches, they’re too look-at-me. But we have to say, they look utterly fabulous on the CL.

It’s not just the wheels. The CL Black Edition is the real deal. It gets new bumpers, bonnet, side skirts, and Black Series diffuser and tailpipes. OK, so maybe the roof scoop is a bit too much.

The choice of wheels for this car is 10×20 inch front and 13×20 inch rear, finished in gunmetal gray to match the matt black wrap of the body. We can’t see any reason whatsoever why you can’t fit this kit on a facelifted CL. As a matter of fact that would look even better.

This kit on this car is actually very timely. These days with the new models available you can buy a 2008 CL65 AMG for dirt cheap. Put this kit on it and you end up with a car that will turn more necks than a brand-new SLS.
