Nissan officially announced they will be unveiling a new version of the Altima at the next New York Auto Show.

Describing the car’s design features, Nissan says it “has a low, wide stance and sculpted profile that makes for quite a dynamic appearance.“

A couple of days ago a video leaked out showing a shot of the new Altima, and it sort of looked like a scaled down version of the current Maxima. It has the same sort of curvatious body and the pretty much the same weird headlights.

Technically, the car shares most of its underpinnings with the Infiniti M37, so expect to see a 2.5 liter engine and a CVT transmission.
