The Nissan Invitation might not be the most fascinating concept car of the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, it’s a hatchback after all, but it is for sure one of the most important. What you see here is not just a designer’s flight of fancy. They are actually going to make it, in the UK at the Sunderland plant, and put it on sale some time next year.
The Invitation will be a well-priced, spacious and well-equipped family hatchback, and for what it is, you have to say the looks are brilliant. Sure, there might be some changes to the final production model, but this, in essence, is it.
The car measures at 4,1250 mm in length, 1,740 mm in width and 1,470 mm in height. Those dimensions will probably remain unchanged, but the panoramic roof might not make it into the production, or it might be offered as an optional extra. The other high-end feature is the Nissan’s Around View Monitor (AVM).
The production version will also get a line of economical engines with CO2 emissions of under 100 g/km. This car is definitely something to look forward to.
