Tajima Goes Electric For 2012 Pikes Peak Climb

Pikes Peak guru Nobuhiro “Monster” Tajima is apparently bored with breaking records and wants a new challenge. So he set himself a big one: tackling the mighty hill in an electric car. Don’t worry, he hasn’t gone mad and is not going to drive a Nissan LEAF. He’s fielding a purpose-built EV. He wants to break his ow record, so the car must be pretty serious.

The car is still in the works, but considering the 2012 Pikes Peak event is just around the corner, he should unveil his new machine soon enough. At this stage we have no details on the technical specs or performance figures for the electric hill climber.

Taima’s EV campaign at this year’s Pikes Peak satisfies not only the man’s thirst for new challenges, it’s also good publicity for electric cars in general. It fulfills Tajima’s environmental responsibilities, assuming he has one!

Commenting on the subject Mr. Monster said: “This year we will challenge the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with EV. I will challenge breaking my world record and would like to win seven consecutive victories,”
