Looks alright, doesn’t it? This is the Hawtai B35, the Chinese copy of Porsche Cayenne. Although they’ve come up with their own front-end, the profile gives it away. And that’s the only thing it shares with the real thing. It’s nowhere near as luxurious or powerful as the German car. None of these Chinese clone cars are as good as the original.
The Hawtai SUV measures 4.8 meters in length, 1.8 meters in width and 1.75 m in height, and features lots of chrome – probably shiny plastics that look like chrome – bits inside and out, big wheels and a massive front grille for an imposing look. Somebody has told them all expensive cars have big front grilles, so…
The B35 might be inspired by the Cayenne in terms of looks, but it’s not so in terms of performance. The car comes with two engines, a 150hp 2.0 liter and a 160 hp 1.8 liter turbo.
That is understandable when you realize that prices for the Hawtai start from just $20,000.
