The 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe is gearing up for its first motorsport activity in the new year, as the company teas up once again with Rhys Millen Racing (RMR) to compete in the 2012 Formula Drift series. The pair will also work together for 2012 Global RallyCross Championship Series, where Rhys Millen will be driving a Hyundai Veloster rally car.
The Genesis Coupe is drift car is based on the refreshed 2013 model which features a whole new front-end design. It is extensively tuned by RMR team for the job, packing more than 600 horsepower. He will be relying, however, on the Geni Coupe’s rear-drive chassis to make the best of that power and produce some spectacular sideways action for the fans.
Millen will be the exclusive driver for the entire Formula Drift season, challenging the field with strong potential for the 2012 championship. The RMR Hyundai Genesis Coupe will make its competitive debut at the first event of the 2012 Formula Drift series, April 6th and 7th in Long Beach, California.
