The guys at German magazine Sport Auto usually do very thorough tests with every car they get hold of. So when they were handed the keys to an Audi A1 Quattro they devised a plan to really put this little hot hatch through its paces. In this video they test the performance of the car’s 2.0 liter turbo engine and the strength of its quattro four-wheel-drive system by doing high speed tests on gravel and tarmac. It’s amazing how this tiny car gathers speed.
The A1 quattro started life as a concept car, but then Audi realized it’s too good to end up in a museum somewhere. So they’re going to make it, albeit limited to only 333 units. The Quattro is powered by a 260 horsepower engine that channels the power to all four wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. It goes from zero to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, and has a top speed of… well, let’s find out:
