Citroen is expanding it s C-segment lineup with two new models for the international market. They’re both four-door sedan versions of Citroen’s successful hatchbacks, called C-Elysee and C4 L. These new cars will soon become available in markets that are new to to the brand, such as Mediterranean basin, China and Russia. Citroen will also be launching the DS line in China later this month.
Both these models are built wit specs a global market in mind, but this being Citroen the cars have funky and stylish design, and they’re packed with features as well. The C-Elysee which has a 508 liter boot, comes with abroad range of comfort-enhancing equipments, from air conditioning with digital readout, to an MP3 audio system with Bluetooth, and the latest generation VTi 72 petrol engine.
The C-Elysee will be manufactured in Spain and will be launched in Turkey, Spain, Central Europe and Algeria at the end of 2012.
As for the C4 L, it is the most luxurious of the two, boasting a range-topping finish, an exceptionally relaxing ride as with top-level Citroens and lots of onborad features. This long wheel-base version of the C4 comes with wraparound seats, backrests inclined to 29° and headrests designed for added comfort. Innovative technologies include hands-free access and start, touch-screen GPS, reversing camera, fully heated windscreen and air ioniser.
Engine-wise it gets the THP 150 & 170 or VTi 135 mated to a new automatic and sequential 6-speed gearbox, depending to country. The C4 L will be made wherever it’s going on sale; Wuhan, China by the end of 2012 and Kaluga, Russia in the first half of 2013.
