Volvo released the first teaser of a new Polestar-tuned S60, confirming the reports suggesting the Swedish company and its racing and tuning arm are working on a high-performance sedan. The S60 Polestar might not be the M3-fighter they’re talking about, but the idea of a toughened up, sporty Volvo sounds kinda cool. You get all the perks of driving a Volvo, with added excitement and drama brought by Polestar.
And Polestar can indeed make some seriously sporty cars. We all remember their C30 Polestar and all its 400 horses. That was an awesome car that unfortunately never made it into production. The S60, however, seems to have a bigger chance. There’s still no details on the car’s power and performance, but we can see from the teaser picture that it gets a lowered ride height, a body kit and bigger sporty wheels. You can’t have that much visual appeal without a serous punch to back it up.
The S60 Polestar will be unveiled on June 16th at the Gothenburg City Race.
