Following a couple of teasers Kia today released the first official pictures of its new Cerato/Forte, which is also known as the K3 in its home market Korea. The new generation of the successful mid-size car boasts an entirely new design which is much fancier than its predecessor. It is also longer and wider and benefits from improved quality, upgraded equipment, and a more spacious cabin.
The current Forte has a nice design too, but it’s kinda soulless and… boring, if you will. This one features more dynamic lines and all in all looks more ‘alive’ than the car it replaces. At the front we have Kia’s signature grille and new headlights that look similar to those of the K9 flagship, and around at the back there are the new taillights, which appear to be modeled on those of the current Forte Koup. Short overhangs, and cool curve above the sills, and new design wheels, are features of the car’s side profile.
The new Kia Cerato/Forte will go on sale in almost all markets around the world, from Australia to America, in the first quarter of 2013 as a 2014 model. It will be followed by coupe (Koup) and hatchback variants.
