We are starting to believe the recent Colorado wildfire that postponed the 2012 Pikes Peak was actually a cunning plan by some of the teams to buy some time and prepare their cars for the challenge, because in the past few weeks we had like five new cars announced to take on the hill climb course. The latest is this 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe race car.
They have not yet revealed what kind of an engine powers this monster, but the massive aero kit on it is a sign that it’s not the standard 350 horsepower V6. Rhys Millen will be piloting this car in the Time Attack class, hoping for a better performance than his last year’s effort in a prototype racer. He is after all more used to the Genesis. The Pikes Peak Genesis apparently benefits from a high-performance braking system, as it’s got Pulse logo on its sides as the main sponsor.
