A lot of people diss Mercedes GL for its size. They say it’s too big and too wasteful, and it doesn’t look very good. Well, yes it’s big, but that enormous body offers advantages like spacious interior and room for seven passengers. And while the wasteful argument might be right about the V8 model, it doesn’t hold water about this GL350 BlueTEC diesel. It offers a good compromise between economy, practicality and usability.

The GL 350 BlueTEC 4MATIC is powered by a 260 horsepower engine which averages 7.4 liter per 100 km, and costs €72,471 in Germany.
