Suspension specialist at KW have come up with a new coilover system for the 2012 Mercedes SLK 55 AMG that makes the 420hp sports car be more planted on the road and corner better. The new Variant 3 ‘inox-line’ coilover for the SLK 55 compromises a bit on the car’s comfort, but in return it’ll make the car much more sporty to drive.
The system enables precise adjustment of height and dampening with the optimum setup pre-set from the factory for those who wish to have the best balance for every day driving. Ride height can be adjusted between a TUV approved lowering of 5-25mm up front and 15-35mm on the rear. The lowering also enhances the car’s styling, makes it look cooler.
Now, KW systems aren’t cheap. This set is priced at £1770 with VAT. They are also working on DDC (Dynamic Damping Control) coilover complete with the ECU addition which will cost even more.
