What do you know, pro drifter Mauro Calo is now test driving cars for Autocar. That’s good, because it means more sideways action in reviews than you could possibly hope for. In this video Mauro compares two Mercedes AMG models; the C63 AMG powered by the old 6.2 liter naturally-aspirated V8, and the new SL63 AMG with the 5.5 liter bi-turbo V8. His job is to determine which is best.

The 6.2 AMG V8 is magnificent engine. The way it lazily revs and the way it sounds is just brilliant. It’s going to be missed, big time. But the new 5.5 liter, this is more in tune with the time because it’s more fuel efficient. And since it makes an even dirtier noise and more power, it’s got to be the winner.
