Compared to the previous generation, the current Nissan Micra is not very stylish. Not that the previous one was stylish, but at least it did have some nice details. This one is just bland. So to regain some of the lost glamour, Nissan has teamed up with ELLE magazine to make a special edition of the car for the British market.

Styling-wise, there is nothing that special about the car. It gets a panoramic glass roof, chromed accents to the lower part of the grille, chrome interior door handles, 15-inch titanium grey alloy wheels, fog lamps and a roof spoiler.

It’s the extra garnish that makes this £12,000 rather interesting. It gets Nissan Connect integrated satellite navigation and infotainment system (optional), ELLE badges on the tailgate and front wings, front floor mats and front door guards, and a range of standard features such as automatic air conditioning, Intelligent Key for keyless entry and push button start, electrically heated and folding door mirrors, along with a speed limiter and cruise control.

This limited edition of just 500 units can be had with either the 1.2-litre 80PS normally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine or the sophisticated 1.2 direct injection supercharged (DIG-S) with 98 PS.

Available colours include the wine-like Shiraz Red, Alabaster White and Atlas Blue.
