The gorgeous new Kia Pro Ceed becomes official at the Paris Motor Show, adding a new coupe to the range of the Popular Cee’d, which also includes a hatchback and a estate. It is basically the same as the hatchback, but features a slopping roof line, rakish windshield, and revised details to make sportier. The ride height is also lower.
The Pro Ceed is full of nice details in its design, from the 17-inch multi-spoke lightweight alloy wheels, wrapped in sticky, low-profile tyres, to the twin-exhaust layout with large diameter tailpipes, everything suggests it was designed to be a fun and cool car. The practicality does suffer a bit, but if you want practicality go get the wagon version.
The car of course has virtually identical rear legroom and luggage capacity to the five-door Cee’d, but that end of the day, it’s a three-door car. This car is really a good candidate for Kia to introduce a high performance Scirocco-fighter based on.
“The first pro_cee’d surprised a lot of people,” adds Gregory Guillaume, Kia’s Chief Designer Europe. “We wanted to build on that elevated expectation with this new model and continue to surprise and delight Kia drivers. The new five-door cee’d takes on the emotional level of the outgoing pro_cee’d, so the role of the new pro_cee’d is to push forward, forge ahead.”
