G-Power has gone totally mad with their new take on the BMW 1M Coupe. We knew they were obsessed with horsepower, but we didn’t know it was so severe. They just introduced the G1 V8 HURRICANE RS, a 1M with 600 horsepower and top speed of 330 km/h. They have fitted this small 1-Series with a V8 engine from the M3 E92.
And as if that wasn’t enough, they’ve supercharged that engine. So that’s where the 600 horsepower comes from. They had to design a new supercharger system for this special edition car, because the one they had didn’t fit under its tiny bonnet. They are completely mad!
With 600 hp and 580 Nm of torque, this G1 Hurricane can accelerate so vividly G-Power says it’s like being dragged by a bungee cord. 0 to 100 takes 4.4 seconds, and 0 to 200 just 12.7 seconds. Keep your foot in it and you go past 330 km/h… in a car the size of a shoe.
The G1 Hurricane also uses M3’s M-SCT gearbox tweaked to work in the 1M, as well as G-Power’s Clubsport suspension system, ceramic brakes, and 20-inch RS wheels. The car also gets a carbon bonnet in M3 designn and also a carbon bootlid.
G-Power BMW 1M G1 Hurricane goes into production next year to celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary. Needless to say it will be limited to 30 very expensive units.
