Cadillac CTS-V VR1200 Twin Turbo Coupe is the craziest car Hennessey Performance has ever made. Powered by a heavily tuned 7.0 liter GM V8 engine, this Coupe has 1,226 brake horsepower and a staggering 1,109 lb-ft torque. Claimed top speed for this car is 242 mph. But what it can achieve in the real world, under normal conditions?
To find out, Hennessey closed the SH130 toll road near Austin, Texas and went for it:
So the car achieved 220.5 mph. In absolute ideal conditions and maybe race fuel, you will probably be able to hit the 240 that the tuner claims. And anyway, 220 is plenty fast for us. Hennessey is an expert of extracting big power out of American engines.
In the video you can clearly see how the car jiggles about every time the turbos peak and the car needs a gear change. To tame this monster Hennessey uses an aero kit, upgraded chassis, bespoke suspension, Brembo ceramic brakes, and 20-inch wheels with sticky rubber.
