To promote their new C-Max family car Ford has come up with a new ad campaign that will sure appeal to families. It is inspired by the ‘La Linea’ cartoon series – well, it’s practically like new episodes of it – and boasts the car’s strength points such as hands-free tailgate, spaciousness, and fuel economy. They are also using the ads to bash the C-MAX Hybrid’s main rival, Toyota Prius V. They’ve made poems about it!
Not sure about the car and its superiority to the Prius V – even though with fuel economy ratings of 47/47/47 mpg and lower pricing it does give the Toyota a run for its money – but these ads are good to watch.
“The fact that each cell has to be hand-drawn lends a certain warmth to the animation,” said Brad Hensen, creative director at Team Detroit. “All of this other computer animation we are being inundated with – including ads by other automakers – is just too fluid, too slick, too perfect. Life isn’t that way. Being more real is another way this campaign truly reflects the vehicle.”
