Fostla’s latest project car is a bit complicating. It started life as a R230 Mercedes SL55 AMG, which they have converted to the newer Mercedes SL65 using Prior Design’s widebody PD-Series kit, and then wrapped in a rather unique liquid gold foil. Then to top it all off, they also tuned the supercharged V8 engine from 500 to 550 horsepower.

The end result is eye-catching and interesting. We don’t really dig gold cars, but this one looks kinda hot, especially with those awesome wheels, measuring at 10.5×20 inch at the front axle and 12.5×20 inch at the back, wrapped with tires of size 265/30-20 and 325/25-20 respectively.

The wheels have black outer lips, but the arms are finished in the same gold color as the body of the car. This R230 also gets a sport exhaust system, not that SL55’s stock system is anything but amazing, with black exhaust tips.

Total cost of conversion is about 30,000 Euros.
