In an effort to increase sales, Nissan decided to dramatically enhance the new Micra’s value for money in the British market. High level of standard and available equipment has always been a winning card for the Micra, and it needs it now more than ever, because to be honest this generation of the car is hardly a looker.

You can now obtain a brand-new Micra in the UK for as little as £7,995, or just £99 per month if you go a PCP deal. The base model comes with stuff like Bluetooth and MP3 comparability, which is impressive, but they haven’t included air condition. For that you have to upgrade to the Acenta trim level, which costs £9,995 or £119 per month, and adds 15-inch alloys, air conditioning, front fog lamps and a leather steering wheel.

Nest stop is the Acenta Connect which comes with Nissan Connect touchscreen satnav system combined with Bluetooth for hands-free telephone calls and music streaming, for £10,495 or £129 per month. At the top of the range sits the Tekna, which adds a glass roof, parking space measurement, rear parking sensors, automatic headlights, rain sensing wipers and climate control, and costs £11,545 and available from only £149 per month.

There is also the ELLE special edition, featuring climate control, a glass roof, painted 15-inch alloy wheels and ELLE badging. This posh model will set you back £11,195 and or £139 per month.

Available engine for the Micra include an 80PS 1.2-litre unit or a 98PS 1.2-litre supercharged DIG-S. You can choose between a five-speed manual or CVT automatic.
