You see Jethro Bovingdon’s hand gesture in the picture above? Well that’s the performance difference between the new Porsche Boxster 981 and the Porsche 991 Carrera. The baby Porsche has never been closer to its big brother in terms of speed and handling. The 991 is faster, of course, but is it a better car than the fantastic new Boxsi?

If we leave facts and figures out of the equation for a minute, we have to say the Boxster makes a lot more sense. It is prettier, it is considerably less expensive, and in the real world, it is just as fast as the 991. So… has Porsche shot themselves in the foot?
