BMW announced its lineup for the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, and the highlights include the i8 Concept Roadster, and the K2 Powder Ride BMW X1. The amazing ePatrol design study will also be on display, joining BMW’s range of production models in the American market.
BMW i8 Spyder is the third concept car from the ‘i’ family, set to become a production model in the near future. This remarkable sports car is powered by an electric hybrid system, with a total powertrain output of 354 horsepower, zero-to-60 mph in 4.6 seconds, and astonishing fuel economy of 78 mpg.
The car also boasts a very futuristic design and utilizes the latest technologies in lightweight materials and communication systems.
The K2 Power Ride is a limited version of the BMW X1 to mark the launch of the Power Ride Special Edition model in the American market. The Edition will be available this winter only, and starts at $44,390. It has a winter sports theme and is equipped accordingly with special suspension, wheels and tires, and accessories.
Other BMWs present at the L.A. event include the ActiveHybrid 3 and ActiveHybrid 5, 7 Series by BMW Individual, the X6 Performance Edition, 2013 M5 and M6, BMW 650i Gran Coupe, and the X5 xDrive35d diesel.
I've seen the Powder Ride advertised before and I'm glad that they are going to show it at the LA Auto show for others to see, it looks like an extraordinary car for those interested in winter sports.
