Qoros is a new and independent Chinese car maker set out to conquer the European market with a series of new cars designed to appeal to young buyers. They say they’ve hired experts fro experts from inside and outside the automotive industry to make sure their products are up to the European standards.
They seem to be onto something here, because the chain of suppliers they’ve put together for the operation includes names like Magna Steyr, TRW, Continental, Bosch, Valeo, Microsoft and Iconmobile. And they say they have hybrids and electric vehicles in store, to be launched every half year.
So they are coming with a loaded gun, and they seem dedicated to challenge the status quo. But what kind of cars they are bringing to the party? Well, the first Qoros to be launched in Europe will be a compact four-door sedan, set for public debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. After that we can expect an estate car and then a SUV.
Qoros says their cars are designed based on European taste, and that they are as safe and as well-made as their European counterparts. But as with other Chinese cars, the real winning card will be an amazingly low price tag.
Some people say that because of complicated economic reasons in near future we will have to buy Chinese cars, whether we like it or not. This could be the start of it all.
