Lexus achieves a major milestone as the number of hybrid vehicles they have sold since 2005 pass half a million mark. The exact number is now over 506,000 vehicles equipped with its Lexus Hybrid Drive system. Today hybrids account for about 25 per cent of all Lexus sales.
Lexus has a wide range of hybrid models, which is the main reason why their hybrid sales is increasing every year. Back in 2005 they sold 26,000 hybrids worldwide, but as the range grew, sales went up, hitting 113,000 in November 2012.
Europe accounts for 126,000 units of the 500K hybrid Lexus cars sold so far, with 32,700 units sold in UK. In Britain the most popular hybrid Lexus is the RX SUV, with the CT200h hatchback catching up fast.
