Earlier this month news broke that Hennessey Venom GT has snatched the world record for the fastest 0 to 300 km/h acceleration from the Koenigsegg Agera R, setting a time of 13.63 seconds. The we saw a short video of the run, and now here’s the whole story of how it went down for John Hennessey to make his way into the Guinness Book of World Records.
This is the 7th production Venom GT, powered by the 1,200 horsepower engine. Thanks to a unique and well-engineered drivetrain, this engine puts down more than a 1000 horsepower at the wheels, which is quite remarkable, given the car’s working class background.
The Venom may not be as beautiful as a Huayra or as advanced as a Veyron, but in some ways it is more awesome than both.
