Karim Habib who took over as the head of BMW design from Adrian van Hooydonk – Chris Bangle’s protege – is not a man of radical designs. He lets the function define forms, and that is probably why we are seeing more and more good-looking BMWs coming out of Bavaria in recent years. In this video Habib talks about industrial design, BMW design, what it stands for, and the challenges they face in the future. Design students will find this clip particularly fascinating.
