The first official picture of the new Mercedes CLA45 AMG is a digital one from a PS4 video game the car is going to be featured in called “Driveclub”. It only shows the rear-end of the car, but that is enough to get our engines revving in anticipation for the car’s official debut at the New York Auto Show.
After Chevrolet who put the new Corvette in the Gran Turismo 5, Mercedes Benz is the second car maker to celebrate launch of a new model digitally in a video game. Not much is known about the game, except that it is developed exclusively for the new Play Station 4 console, and it’s going to kick ass!
We’re more interested in the specs of the real car. If the Mercedes A45 AMG is any indication, the CLA 45 is going to get a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine developing an unbelievable – for a 2.0 liter – 360 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. It will feature a dual clutch transmission and an AMG 4Matic all-wheel-drive system.
The new 45 series offers a range of affordable AMG cars, and they are going to cause serious trouble for BMW’s small M cars like the 1M and the upcoming 2 Series M.
