Buick revealed details of its updated new LaCrosse a few days ahead of the car’s official debut at the New York Auto Show. Here are the headlines: the new LaCrosse features a revised styling and upgraded interior with new luxury trim; it is chock-full of high-tech equipment; and you can have it with two engines including an I4 and a V6.
On the outside the car comes with new signature wing-shape LED daytime running lamps and LED wraparound tail lamps, but to be honest it is still a fairly uninteresting design. The interior looks much better, what with the new seats, enhanced materials, redesigned central instrument panel and console.
The cabin is also where you find how well-equipped the Buick LaCrosse is. It comes with the next-generation IntelliLink infotainment system, and loads of other up to the minute features such as an Adaptive Cruise Control.
Safety is taken care of with radar- and camera-based safety features, including Side Blind Zone Alert, Lane Change Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Automatic Collision Preparation.
As for the engines, you have the choice of a 2.4L engine with eAssist light electrification technology (180 hp) or a 3.6L direct-injected V-6 (304 hp). Each is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, but AWD is available for both models.
