Mercedes Benz is about to reveal the new generation S-Class W222, but before that and as a sort of warmup, they sent out the first pictures of the car’s interior. As you’d expect, this lavish cabin is covered in all sorts of exotic materials. It blends a classic design with modern features. It is brilliant.

The magnificent ambient lighting system that wraps the entire cabin, the leather upholstery and trimming with contrasting stitching that also covers most of the dash, and the classic vents are all very nice and cool, but it is hard not to notice that incredibly large display.

That 1.23-inch screen is your main source of communicating with the car. It is connected to the COMAND system to provide you not only with the latest connectivity features, but also all the vehicle’s equipment. You interact with it through an ergonomic and easy to use knob on the center console.

The seating system in the new Mercedes S-Class is a story in itself. Besides a new massage system with 14 air cushions and six different programs, they feature an ergonomic design with adjustable everything, and a clever ventilation system. Even the armrests are heated.

The air-con system is also super clever and sends waves of fresh air toward the occupants for optimum performance. A feature that doesn’t seem too brilliant is the perfuming system with four different scents available. What it does, basically, is make your brand-new car smell like it’s ten years old.

So far so good then. The interior of the new S-Class lives up to the expectations. Let’s see what the rest of the package is like. Stay tuned.
