Not that it needed a facelift, but Kia decided to refresh the looks of the Optima. Unveiled at the New York Auto Show, the new Optima features revised front and rear fascias, with new grilles up front and diffuser and trunk lid out back. There’s only new LED lights.
Inside the cabin the 4.3-inch instrument cluster and the optional 8-inch infotainment display are updated, now boasting UVO eServices, HD and satellite radio, and an Infinity audio system.
The Optima comes in LX, EX, SX and SX-Limited trims, and the standard kit includes dual exhaust with chrome tips, solar glass, exterior mirror turn signal indicators, front fog lights, exterior heated mirrors, chrome accented exterior door handles and new 16-inch alloy wheels fitted with 205/65R16 tyres and a six-speed automatic transmission.
Engine-wise, you can have the Optima with either a 2.4-litre GDi four-cylinder or a 2.0-litre GDi turbo engine. There is also a 2.4-litre hybrid powertrain. The only available transmission is a six-speed automatic transmission featuring Sportmatic clutch-free shifting.
