A couple of official pictures leaked out of Ford’s design studio show us a clay model that is said to the next generation Ford Mustang. Given the posters on the wall and other familiar models scattered all over the place – and all the previous speculative renderings – they seem legit. This is what the 2015 Ford Mustang will look like.
Ford’s officials have said a number of times that the next-gen Mustang will have a more global design, and you can see that in these clay models, especially around at the front. It seems to be heavily inspired by the design of the new Fusion/Mondeo, widely regarded as the best-looking Ford product with a global appeal.
They are not totally ditching the Mustang’s classic cues, though. The rear-end appears to have a retro-style fastback design, reminiscent of the old Mach 1 model. So it seems the next Mustang will have a modern and sleek front-end, and a retro classic rear-end.
Drastic changes about the new Ford Mustang are not limited to the way it looks. It is also getting two new four-cylinder engines.
