Formula E Reminds Us Why We Don’t Like Electric Cars – Video

Formula E Burnout 600x335 at Formula E Reminds Us Why We Dont Like Electric Cars Video

Just as we were forgetting about our admittedly unreasonable, but undeniably profound hatred of electric cars, this video of a FIA Formula E race car doing burnouts in the hands of pro driver Lucas di Grassi brings it all back again. Don’t get us wrong, we have nothing against replacing cabs and vans and stupid city cars with EVs – if anything, that preserves the fossil fuel for petrolheads and their gas-guzzling V8s and V12s – but why can’t greenpeaspeace leave motorsport alone?

I mean come on, this thing sounds like a bag of cats being tortured by fire!

Just to be fair we have to point out that the Formula E electric race car is quite a performer, with a 250kw output, 0-62mph (100kph) in less than 2.6 seconds, and enough torque to set the rear tires alight at the mere hint of throttle.
