Maserati has just dropped the first teaser video of the new Ghibli sedan, announcing the car’s debut at the Shanghai Auto Show. They also promise to release the first pictures of the car tomorrow. But maybe they shouldn’t bother as the internet has already taken care of that.
The Ghibli is a mid-size sedan, an entry-level Maserati if you will, that slots below the Quattroporte, rivaling cars like the Mercedes CLS and Audi A7. Technically, it should be an opponents for the A4, the E-Class, and the 5-Series, but since it’s a Maser, its price will put it in the same category as the aforementioned fancy sedans.
Maserati designers have tried their based to differentiate the Ghibli from the QP, not just by cutting a few inches from its length, but also a new grille and modified headlights as well as sportier bumpers. The way the Ghibli is looking at us frowning it kinda reminds us of the current F30 Series.
We are looking forward to see what kind of engines Maserati is going to offer for the Ghibli. A compact sport sedan with a turbocharged V8 would be pretty cool.
