McLaren P1 is a Million euro hyper car, and that, before anything else, means that it will be used very rarely and only in perfect weather condition. Still, McLaren never does a half-assed job; they are not Italian! So they recently took the P1 to the Arctic Circle for extreme weather testing.

They say the P1 must be the best driver’s car in the world on road and track, or even a frozen lake. The first production units of the limited edition hyper car will be delivered to their customers in a few months, so McLaren wants to be 100 percent sure about the P1’s reliability.

They have accelerated the testing plan to finish the job in time. XP prototypes are dispatched across the globe, challenging the car’s quality as well as its groundbreaking technologies including the hybrid powertrain.

Speaking of the powertrain, it consists of a mid-mounted 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine and a high performance electric motor, generating a combined output of 916 PS. It makes 60 mph from zero in less than 3 seconds and takes only 16 seconds to reach 186 mph. Top speed is limited to 217 mph. The performance of the P1 will be showcased with a number of dynamic displays this summer.
