Mercedes announced the initial pricing details of the new CLA-Class as the car is gearing up for its showroom launch. The new sporty four-door coupe is the first proper Mercedes Benz that is supposed to affordable and withing the reach of younger customers.
But with a starting price of €28,977 for the entry-level CLA 180, it is not what you call cheap you know. It is still good value, though, seeing as you get a good-looking niche-starting car with all of the standards of bigger Mercedes models. With four-doors, compact size, high-end equipment, and a range of refined engines, the CLA offers a very appealing prospect.
The CLA cmoes with a lineup of petrol and diesel engines ranging in output from 90 kW (122 hp) to 155 kW (211 hp). All engines feature the ECO start/stop function as standard, but for the gearbox, you have the choice of either a six-speed manual or the firm’s brilliant 7G-DCT dual clutch automatic transmission.
The most aerodynamic production car in the world also gets a fair number of segment-first features such as sports suspension and 4MATIC all-wheel drive, as well as COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST.
