Japan is getting yet another limited edition German car, and this time it is a Mercedes G-Class. The Night Edition G-Class is based on the Mercedes G550 V8 model, and it is limited to only 100 very well-equipped units with bespoke visual features.
On the outside, the G550 Night Edition comes with the Obsidian Black paint job, but for the interior you – if you are Japanese of course – have the choice of either classic red leather or the lavish porcelain white designo leather.
The car also features the AMG version’s flared fenders and wheels, but power comes from the standard 5.5 liter V8 engine. It is not as interesting as the bi-turbo unit in the AMG models, but you still get like 400 horsepower, which is probably enough for most people. The drivetrain consists of a seven-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel-drive.
The G550 night Edition is priced at 13,900,000 yen, which is what a G63 costs in Europe.
