Nissan must have really hit the bottom of the name barrel because their latest concept car set for debut at the Shanghai Auto Show is called “Friend-ME”. It has a feature called “Four Seats, One Mind Connectivity” which means all passengers aboard can share equal information. No idea what that means!
Nissan says the car is designed for vibrant, young generation in China with key input from Chinese designers. Based on the teaser pictures it appears to be a four-door hatchback, and around at the back, it looks strangely like the current Hyundai i30. The Friend-ME name must also have something to do with the onboard technology, mainly the social and connectivity stuff.
The Friend-ME is one of 20 cars on display at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show. Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd., together with Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFL-PV) and Zhengzhou Nissan Automobile Co., Ltd. (ZNA), will showcase new and exciting models such as the Nissan GT-R, Quest and Murano. Also featured at Nissan’s booth will be its recently-launched global sedan, Teana.
