Just because your life in SimCity is virtual doesn’t mean it cannot be environmentally-friendly! Nissan has teamed up with Electronic Arts to integrate the first electric vehicle into the strategy game, allowing users to create EV-friendly cities.
Gamers can install up to five Nissan-branded charging stations throughout their cities free of charge. What’s more, to encourage EV driving and developing charging infrastructure for EVs, they get a one-time wave of “happiness,” a key reward mechanism in the game. It’s a good thing then the LEAF is the only EV in the game, because if there was, say, a Tesla Model S or even a Focus electric in there, LEAF drivers wouldn’t be “smiling” so hard.
As sad as it is that some people spend their precious lives building virtual cities in a computer, making those cities green is an even more preposterous idea. But hey, you have to kill the time somehow if you have no job and no girlfriend!
“Even virtual cities recognize that electric vehicles are the future of a sustainable mobile society, and Nissan is excited to start helping SimCity players make their cities more environmentally friendly by adding its zero-emission Nissan LEAF to the game,” said Jon Brancheau, vice president, Marketing, Nissan North America, Inc. “Nissan remains committed to finding innovative ways to promote the development of EV infrastructure and to bringing practical, affordable electric vehicles to markets throughout the United States.”
Guys guys, that was just a joke! Little sense of humor…
Anyway, I do apologize if that last part offended the gamers.
What crappy writing… All gamers are basement dwelling virgins and social pariahs wasting their lives? I have a beautiful wife, two wonderful children and make a very comfortable living. I also drive a Nissan Leaf SL (which I love) and play SimCity when I have a little spare time. How is that any worse than “spending your precious life” waxing elitist about performance cars other people have to let you drive? Why do you have to talk crap about what other people find enjoyment in? Why resort to stereotypes? Are they accurate? Are you a terrorist because you’re from the Middle East? Yeah, I didn’t think so. Not cool, man.
Maybe when you’re writing about a computer game, you should try not to insult every gamer in existance? Saying people who play sim city have no job or girlfriend is backwards and makes you sound like an idiot. To play the latest pc games, you need a top of the range computer, costing a LOT of money a well paid job, and there are a lot of girls who play computer games, n if they play sim city, they have a decent job too. Also you’re really behind in your news, this sim city dlc came out monthes ago, people wrote about it, movef onto new stories, then you wrote about it as if everyone was meant to not know this.
