When the guys at KTW decided to tune a Mercedes E-Class they deliberately went for the least sporty model to show how they can turn things around and make something exciting out of it. So they picked an estate version of the E-Class powered by the 350 diesel engine.
Granted, they could have gone for a smaller diesel engine, but it’s not like that would make a big difference. No diesel-powered Mercedes has a shred of sportiness whatsoever.
The tuner began its quest by installing a Brabus ECO PowerXtra D65 kit on the engine of this hardworking donkey. That gives it a total output of 315 hp or 230 kW. Next step was the exhaust system. You can’t have over 300 horsepower and still sound like a tractor. So KTW fitted a Brabus exhaust system as well.
The wheels too come from Brabus. These 19-inch Monobloc R rims are wrapped with 245 section Pirelli tires up front and 285 out back. The front skirt, well, that is Brabus as well, and so are the sport fenders, door sills, aluminum pedal pads and a set-door-lock pins. In fact the only part KTW contributed is that front grille. Well done boys!
The cost of this package is 18.999 Euros, which given the fact that it is virtually a Brabus E-Class, makes sense.
