Along with the super cool Golf Design Vision GTI Volkswagen is also bringing a sick concept version of the Amarok pickup truck to this year’s Wörthersee meeting. It’s called the Amarok R-Style, and it features heavy visual and performance upgrades.
The R-Style is slammed on 22-inch gunmetal wheels shod with 295/35 performance tires. The lowered ride height is complemented with 60mm extra width, brought on by the flared fenders. The body also gets a front spoiler, revised bumpers, side skirts, rear apron, and a rear diffuser with integrated tailpipes. Red accents on the silver paint job finish off the styling package.
As for the interior, the R-Style Amarok comes with large sport seats, sport steering wheel, carbon fiber dashboard, and more red accents to match the exterior.
The best part of this concept however is what lies under the bonnet. The six-cylinder turbo diesel in this car makes 270 horsepower and over 600 Nm of torque. It features an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive, and is capable of going from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.
Unlike the Golf, this concept car is not that outlandish. In fact, it is about time for VW to release a high performance version of the Amarok.
So moet 'n bakkie mos lyk!
