With the shadow of the new and thoroughly improved M4 looming on the horizon, and as the production of the current M3 Coupe comes to an end, the guys at ALPHA-N Performance decided to have one last crack at turning the E92 into something memorable. They may have overcooked it a bit, though.
The BT92, as they call it, features a styling kit that practically facelifts the M3. It gets new bumpers, front wings, bonnet, and a front grille that covers up part of the headlights, giving the car a whole new look.
On the sides, the widened fenders join the nicely-designed side skirts to create a lustrous shape, while new side stakes complement the M3’s distinctive waistline. Around at the back, a new trunk lid with an absolutely massive spoiler up top teams up with a unique diffuser unit down below to again alter the E92’s looks. The new rear bumper also features a central twin tailpipe setup, adding to the car’s exclusivity.
The BT92 is certainly an eye-catcher, but is it prettier than the stock E92? We’re not sure. Looks aside, the tuner also improves the interior with new seats and Alcantara trimming, while their engineers drill the 4.0 liter V8 to 4.6 liter, and boosting its output to 490 horsepower.
