Refusing to die, the second-gen Audi TT spawns yet another special limited edition. This time it really is special, as it is a celebratory model to mark production of the 500,000th TT. The car’s based on the TTS model and it’s called the Competition edition.
The TTS Competition comes in just two exclusive colors, Nimbus Gray and Imola Yellow, and is fitted with a unique set of 19-inch wheels shod with 225/35 tires. That is about it for the exterior. Inside the cabin though, changes are more substantial.
You get Impulse leather package in steel gray with leather bands as decorative elements featuring Imola Yellow edges and stitching, leather multifunction steering wheel with a more strongly contoured rim and the rear parking system, and an aluminum commemorating plaque on the door trims embossed with the number of the car out 500.
As for the engine, the TTS competition gets the 2.0 liter TFSI engine with maximum output of 200 kW (272 hp) and 350 Nm (258.15 lb-ft) of torque, mated to six-speed S tronic transmission. It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds, and returns an average fuel consumption of 7.7 liters per 100 kilometers (30.55 US mpg).
Other bells and whistles fitted to the Competition models include xenon plus headlights and Audi magnetic ride damper control system. The cost of this model over an standard TTS is a very reasonable 1,900 EUR.
