The Chinese-owned Swedish car maker Volvo took to Youtube to announce they are bringing a new concept model to this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. This yet unnamed model is said to be Volvo’s best effort to shake off the image associated with the brand as the maker of dull and ‘vanilla’ cars.

The teaser video they have released does offer a good view of the new Volvo Concept from some angles, and it also reveals a badge that says C Coupe, hinting at the fact that it very well might be a preview of the next generation Volvo C70. We will now about that for sure at the IAA, so stay tuned.

Will Volvo be able to put on a sporty new face without compromising the brand’s core values that are frankly what make them unique? Should they do that? Making more exciting cars is a noble effort, but it comes with the risk of losing the traditional customer base that like the brand for what it is.
