The most powerful version of Audi’s good-looking four-door coupe, the A7 Sportback, is now available in the United Kingdom, and it is priced from £83,495. For that you get a 4.0-litre TFSI twin-turbo V8 engine that makes 560PS and peak torque of 700 Nm, and a top speed of either 155mph, 174mph or 189mph.
The top speed depends on which expensive optional package you choose. The standard car is limited to 155, but the higher top speeds come with the Dynamic and Dynamic Plus packages respectively. The 3.9 seconds 0 to 60 time is standard on all models.
The 2014 Audi RS7 Sportback is powerful and fast, but it is also very economical. At low to intermediate loads and engine speeds, the cylinder-on-demand system shuts down the intake and exhaust valves of cylinders 2, 3, 5 and 8. The engine then runs as a four-cylinder until the driver demands strong acceleration. That’s how it manages up to 28.8 mpg.

It is all good about the 2014 Audi RS7 Sportback, but the car somehow lacks the feel and thrill of a 560hp car. What’s more, a lot of British customer prefer the more practical estate body style, and therefore go for the RS6 Avant. But if it is posing that you are after, the RS7 is the one for you.
