Following its official premiere at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, the new generation Mercedes S63 AMG shows itself again, this time in a new pictures gallery that does good job of showcasing the car’s strange beauty.
We say strange, because a big, luxurious, and serious German saloon car cannot be beautiful. Plus, this new W222 series with those ungainly headlights is not a looker anyway. And yet, the S63 AMG is so damn impressive. You can help but admire it.
Maybe it’s the hawking presence of that magnificent 5.5 liter bi-turbo V8 engine. It makes 577 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque, which means this large barge can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. The four-wheel-drive models can do it in 4. The car is also lighter and more agile than its predecessor, but don’t expect sport handling. It is still a pure limousine at heart.
2014 Mercedes S63 AMG is priced from € 149,880.50 for the short wheelbase model, and € 152,617.50 for the long wheelbase.
